I answered and no one was there. So I went online to find out who it was. Ended up here and someone metioned they called the number back, so that is what I did. It was a recording from our Counties Sheriff office, telling us about the CodeRed system. When going to sign up, it tells you the following:This is from the CodeRed organization:Please take a moment to fill in the appropriate information below to be notified by your local emergency response team in the event of emergency situations or critical community alerts. Examples include: evacuation notices, bio-terrorism alerts, boil water notices, and missing child reports. This information will remain the property of ECN and will not be disclosed unless compelled to do so by a court of sufficient jurisdiction. Caller ID You will know the call is from us when your Caller ID displays 866-419-5000 or Emergency Comm for Emergency Notifications **** If you would like to hear the last message delivered to your phone, simply dial the number back. ****Sorry I would rather be safe than sorry....
Massachusetts Emergency Alerts was who used that number calling me. It was a valid call for me.
Female caller said she was reporting missing child. She gave child's name, age, weight, height, clothes description and last seen at 3000 Ben Mar. Caller said to call Houston Police department @ 713-731-5223. Caller also mentioned AChildIsMissing.org. I do not know how caller got my cell phone number. Call came in at 9:45 PM. Message was left in my voice mail.
Mother inlaw recieved a call this am from this 866-419-5000 stating there was a missing child and to go outside and look around her car she called us and we called the Sheriffs dept and they have no record of a missing child in our area and to tell my Mother inlaw to not go outside and look for the so called missing child so beware the sheriffs dept said if a child is missing the hole area would be called beware of this number....
Well surprise buddy... it IS being used by telemarketing companies. Get used to the new normal imposed on us by all the liberals that are out of control out there.
