Whew! My goodness folks are all worked up here. Well, I can tell you I got a call from this number this morning, and it was SPOOFED, as in--it wasn't a legitimate call from my local sheriff or fire department-- it was a robo call selling me services for a 911 "app" that can be purchased from the iTunes store, posed as being an "Emergency Communication" on my caller i.d. Pretty sleazy.

Until I get a letter in the mail confirming this number is from some sort of emergency response center, or otherwise see something on our local news regarding this number, then I have to treat this as a telemarketer due to the fact that caller id spoofing services are too readily available and I get hit with fake calls and/or telemarketers on a DAILY basis. I own a small business and businesses are EXEMPT from the Do Not Call List.

First received a call from 866-291-3926, "UNAVAILABLE" on CID. Completely ILLEGAL CALL: Computer-generated-voice ROBOCALL to a DNC #, FRAUDULENTLY claiming to be Microsoft & saying our license had 'expired.' Instructions to call this same # back. Authorities should be able to catch these THIEVES if this is a live, 'callable' number. Less than an hour later, ANOTHER call from 866-419-5000 with "EMERGENCY COMM" on CID, No Msg. If this number is legit, WHY no msg? We are in the middle of a blizzard in the Northeast now; not sure how a phone call will help. (Usually our Emergency Notification calls as "ENC Community".)

This CodeRed number 866-419-5000 is Legit. I remembered I did sign up for it too!I received a test call and then called that number back. Listen to the entire message. It just told me about it and gave me information to add other people in my family.

Got the call from 866-419-5000. It's Code Red, a special alert number that my town uses to inform residents of emergencies. Very effective considering we are in blizzard conditions today and they alerted us to a warming center being open.

I got a call from this number at 10:36 AM on March 6th. The caller ID read Emergency Comm (the rest was not visible on the caller ID screen). It was a message about the emergency alert system and how to get on the list to be notified of an emergency.

I just got a call from this phone number, came up on my caller id as emergency communications. I called it back and the message informed me that there was a young girl missing from my area. This is a legit number.

Legit - County Emergency system letting us know of a forest fire in nearby woods.

If they are real law enforcement dont they have dogs to shoot and old people to taze?
