I received a call from 8664195000. It was my school calling. They have set up an emergency message system that calls all the students if something happens. My message was a TEST. I go to Oklahoma State Univ.

This number was to alert us of a missing child in our city.

It is a company that does mass recorded calls for hire. Much worse than a telemarketer!! They called 5 times in a row and finally left a message.Message stated they were Hollywood FL police dept.Thank goodness Earthlink TrueVoice lets me block future calls!I blocked 866-419-5000, 866-419-5001 and 866-672-5620 as Google search says they are all from same company...AKA Santa's Sleigh Phone.

Further Google search shows 866-419-5000 is a company called: Emergency Communications Network, Inc. at www.coderedweb.com

CodeRED is used by public safety organizations such as Police Departments. The call referenced here was probably for a missing child or a missing senior citizen. The number may have been used in the past for another use but is now used solely for CodeRED - if the Hollywood Police department was mentioned it came from them. If they had been called with the case number in the call they would know what it was. CodeRED cannot be used for telemarketing and is not used by anything other than public safety organizations, community goverments, universities and colleges. You can block the number but you will not receive public information.

Emergency Communications Network, Inc., provides CodeRED and CodeRED WeatherWarning to communities, colleges and other agencies for community notificatons. The company is based in Florida and provides the service nationwide.

This was a call from the Hollywood Florida Police Department notifing us of a missing senior citizen who needs medication. They were asking to check your property and notify them if you spot this individual. They called us twice, but I knew it was once on our general number and the second time on our ringmaster. We had a similar call come before about a month ago and unfortunately being a school night we were already in bed and the phone was ringing at a bit after 10 pm.

I received a message from this number on 3-18-2008 at 11:10 PM. It was the Maryland state police, They were searching for a missing elderly man with a medical condition. Which explained why there was a search helicopter above my house and police everywhere...
