Also got call every nite 730 missing elderly man in Alabama I live in Miami unless he walk all the way here maybe should go outside and look for him dumb phone call
They called my mother's house in Louisiana no kids live there in the house. No emergency on 9/7 or 9/19 in her hometown. Random calling!
I received 2 calls and a text from this number within a few minutes of each other. One on my cell and one on my landline. I missed both calls. No voicemail was left on my landline. A garbled voicemail was left on my cell. These are CodeRed Alerts issued by my county government. The Silver Alert text had a good description of the missing individual. The CodeRed calls need to have a real person record the message as the computer generated voice is pretty unintelligible.
Not sure if it's legit but this # comes up EMERGENCY ALERT. Not about weather as it's clear as a bell. MAY be spoofed but we're not sure. On 9/29/17 @ 5:56 PM.
CID is "EMERGENCY COMM". Didn't answer, a message was left. Tornado warning for a city 50 miles North of me, "take cover now". Clear blue sky at my house and at least 300 miles in all directions according to satellite weather. Yes there was some weather 6 hrs ago, but definitely not now. A little late on that one Charlie. If the information is current and valid, it might be useful. If it happens again and the information is not useful, the number gets blocked.
Our tax dollars at work. Received a call from this number at 2:15pm yesterday about a tornado warning in Round Rock TX, telling me to take cover immediately. Problems - (a) the storm went through Round Rock about 9:00am in the morning and (b) McDade where I live is at least 60 miles from Round Rock and (c) the 9am RR storm was not headed in the direction of McDade and (d) the sun is out all over Central Texas at 2pm, and has been out for hours! They had their system so busy doing phone call warnings to areas that did not need warnings that one has to wonder how many people that needed a warning did not get one (or got it late) because the system was in over-load-phone-call mode.
If this number was legit, they would have left a voicemail to inform you of the emergency in your town, or city. This call came in on my cell and no message was left. Also, Truecaller shows that 638 identified this number as SPAM! I have to agree.
This is a legit call from Code Red. It is a service that you can subscribe to through your local county sheriff department or emergency alert system, or even local news/media. The call comes from the Code Red System. They left a voice mail with the purpose of the call - system test of the tornado warning system. It was also followed by a text from my local county emergency system stating the same. The calls/texts do not show as a local number, as they use a system similar to GroupMe, that allows them to send out mass notifications to their subscribers. It's just an updated version of the alerts that used to come across the television screen back in the day, and still come across radio broadcasts. If it's such a bother to receive emergency notifications, simply opt-out!
