It is some kind of emergency number. The call I got was for a missing man with medical problems. Please do not ignore the number, someones life may depend on you. It is not a telemarketer.

I received a call from this number the other day, but I missed it! Thank God I called it back because there was a major gas leak in our area! I did not see it on the news yet and my kids were out playing! I think our County had a great idea when they got this service!

My call was from my old college's football coach-- a recorded message telling me about their schedule or some crap.

Got a call from this number around 7 PM tonight. Message said it was the Baltimore County Police Department searching for a "17-year-old CHILD" who had been missing since 1 or 2 PM this afternoon.Referring to someone that age as a "child" triggers my B.S. detector, as does the fact that so little time had elapsed between the last sighting and the so-called missing person call. That number is now blocked.BTW, I use a BELTronics model AD100 stand-alone caller ID, bought years ago at Radio Shack and unfortunately out of production. It allows you to block as many as 100 incoming numbers, once they've popped up on the ID screen. Don't know if any of these are floating around used or new-old-stock, but I highly recommend it.

CodeRED is used by public safety organizations such as Police Departments. The call referenced here is probably for a missing child or a missing senior citizen.It is some kind of emergency number. Received two calls from this number within 2 minutes of each other. Left no message either time. Very annoying, indeed!

Its a weather alert call.

Call, but do not say anything, or hang up after My recorded message say "This telephone number is now on the do not call registry to all telemarketers."

Sounds like a good idea to block calls that could contain livesaving information. Thanks for being such a great member of our community!
