Recorded message, my car warranty was about to expire, MY FINAL WARNING! At least it was my final warning until the called back 3 more time in 4 hours.
message left on voice mail letting me know that this was a test of the areas code red alerts. I did sign up for this in my neighborhood/town.
Local government calling about upcoming winter storm in central Illinois. Not as big a deal as you're all making it.
The reason that you are not hearing anything when you answer the phone is because you are not saying "hello". CodeRED uses "real Call" technology to deliver messages. It will not start until someone says something. I know it can be a real pain to be awakened....but what if it was your child missing, or your father? Do some research....checkout the website before you decide to block the number....or ignore it...you will probably hear the tornado before it flattens your house....Darwin was a genious
Appears to be a legitimate real call from police/public safety testing phone systems.
Then these jokers should identify themselves as local law enforcement ; every time I see a number that doesn't have my area code (541) , I'm going to assume they're sales [***].
This is the call back number for the CodeRED Emergency Notification System. This system is used by thousands of cities, counties, and local government for getting critical information out to their community. Emergency notifications done by federal, state, or local government are NOT subject to the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (AKA: no call list). However if you want to opt out you can call your local police or fire dept and ask to opt out. After signing a document you can. Just keep in mind that if there is a tornado, flash flood, gas leak, contaminated drinking water, missing child, SWAT incident, or ... you will not be notified. Good luck!
It was definitely CodeRed. I also got an email about the same time, much like the old Emergency Broadcast System. Sort of a 21st-Century Duck-and-Cover drill!
It was a Weather alert from Anne Arundel County,Maryland [snowstorm]
You are mistaken, this phone is only used for emergency purposes.

Saying postal redelivery unit when called. What?
I didn't accept the call and they did not leave any voice message
I answered this one out of curiosity as I usually don't answer calls from numbers I don't know. Another annoying robocall. This time claiming to be calling from Medicare.
Would give it zero stars if I could.
Because I didn't know who the caller was, I sent it to voicemail. The caller did not leave a message and hung up. I assumed it was another robo call and when I checked this site my assumption was confirmed.
said dish was updating receivers and needed for us to turn on dish for 2 minutes to do updates. told them to call back tomorrow.
