I received this email also, I called BOA's regular customer service number, and I was told that they number is legitimate and is the ATM and CC fraud protection hot line. After reading some of the comments on this site, I became worried, but rest assured it is an automated system and it is legit.

I just got the same message today on my account- I have a credit card account with them that I have not used for about a month now but this email states that it's for a Check Card and the account says: MYACCESS CHECKING- what is this about??? So when I went into the link they wanted my SS# my routing # my account# and so on- I have a credit score in the 790's and I'm not giving any of that information out. I guess I wont update my account therefor I cannot use my card any longer- their loss not mine.
i just got a call from them. it showed up as 'unknown' and they told me to call this number because fraud was happening and their calling from an atm hotline. i have my check card with me, so how can someone use the atm? i checked my online account, and things are fine. plus all the help numbers are either 800 or 888 numbers not freakin' 877.don't call the number. call a number on from the website and tell them to transfer you instead if you're still worried
Well, I got an email about fraudulent activity on my checkcard saying to call this number. I do have a BoA checkcard that had recently gone missing, so I called them up and, indeed, someone had my card and was attempting to use it.Since then I called this number and spoke to someone again about the issue. For some reason this number just called me back and didn't leave a message... which is odd.Anyway, this is Bank of America's fraud department (or whatever) number. It's legit.
It is NOT Legit, it is a scam, I repeat SCAM! DO NOT give them your SSN or Account number or you will be drained of your funds!
