I just have to say it again!!! I started the course in Sept 08 and I was hired by Haverhill last week! I worked really hard to do my work over and above what was required. When it was all finished I applied and was hired. I am so excited! I am heading to Toronto in 2 weeks for training! and filming a part for their commercial!!! I guess they do what they say they'll do if you hold up your end of the bargain. If you are a slacker you can't expect them to hire you. just because you signed up for the course does not entitle you to a job or a refund. If you do all the work, get the grades, apply and they decide not to hire you, you get a refund. It is stupid to expect them to go through the expense of your course material and instructor time only for you to do crappy work and then expect all your money back. Any slacker can file a free claim with the BBB, all that is going to happen is the BBB system will get backed up as they start investigating. After a while they will come to realize it for what it is. People buy a product (the course) and think they are entitled to a job. Not the case people, you got what you paid for, a set of assignments. It is then up to you how much effort you put in. you reap what you sow. So stop complaining and move on, you are all wasting your time. Do you not think that Haverhill has all the proof it needs? All they need to do if it ever went to court, is show what is considered good work from good students and compare it to the complainers work. They don't seem too worried by all the complainers, I am guessing that is why.

Just wondering... are you working for Haverhill?

Although I agree it will not cover the 6 months of time and energy wasted. Good luck to you with your future in home staging. I just spoke to a Haverhill rep. and gave them my information and then cancelled because I wanted much more information and your column really helped. I, too, enjoy decorating very much and had just told my kids my one regret in life was not becoming a professional interior decorator. My daughter in-law mentioned Haverhill.com and thus my actions after thinking about it for a couple of months. Yes it is the same Rick Okada... he and Darren Morgenstern are both the principles in not only Haverhill Institute of Staging & Design but also Ashley Madison. What amazes me is that so many high-ranking Haverhill executives have time to find and comment on so very many sites that negatively speak out against the company. Hmmmmmm????
