I work for Kaiser as well as being a Kaiser member. I just received a message from this number on my personal phone that was a recording about a preventive health care recommendation. I think this number may come up for preventive health care reminders and recommendations as well as appointment reminders. I tend to be suspicious and generally do not answer calls from numbers I do not recognize, but in this case any paranoia is unwarranted. Not sure why some folks do not receive a message when this number calls, it may have to do with privacy preferences you set up with Kaiser. You can call the Member Services phone number on the back of your health plan card and check or change any such preferences.
I got a call from them today at 10:48am. I didn't answer it as I didn't recognize the number. No message was left, and I have my voicemail set up saying my name, and still no message. I was reading other comments on here about reminding people of appointments, well I have no upcoming appointments with them.
This is in fact the Kaiser Appointment Reminder Number. The reason many do not get a message when they call is because the pre-recorded message is set to begin immediately when the call is being answered. It is not programmed to wait a few moments nor does it differentiate between a live voice or voicemail and so the pre-recorded message is usually completed by the time your greeting ends.
Received a call from this # - and they DID leave a message. It was a Kaiser recording reminding my family to get thier flu shots.
It's Kaiser. Normally my doctor's office calls to remind me of an appointment. Weird. They must have centralized the department that calls for reminders.
Glad to see these explanations. Yes, likely a Kaiser reminder. Wish they had left a message -- and we have told them numerous times that leaving a message is okay.
It seems if it doesn't hear a "voice" other than "the number you have reached is xxx.xxx.xxxx" it won't "leave" a message. I get these 2 second voicemail every time!
