This kind of site is why I love the Internet... I've started getting calls from Zwicker and Associates about collecting delinquent debt. The problem is that all my accounts are up to date and I even checked my credit report to be sure.Total scam. Thanks for the info everyone!
I started to read all of the messages posted, however, I started to get sick to my stomach from reading and had to stop when I got half way through. I'm not going to comment to anyone specifically, but to everyone who reads this. I (unfortunatly) work for Zwicker and Associates, I never said I like my job or am proud of the type of work I do. But it is a job. I first want to put out there that I am going to school, for a double major in accounting and corporate law and plan to add a minor of pastry arts. So I dont want anyone to come back and say that this is the only job I can get per my 6th grade education level as commented above. It is a job to help me get through school so I may start my career. Not that I have to explain myself to anyone, but I did want to say it so that people understand me and where I am coming from. I know what it is like to be in a hardship situation and not able to pay your bills. To have to pick and choose which ones you can or will pay. I understand that you have to take care of the necessities first before anything else. You have to live somewhere, keep electric on, put food in the fridge and on the table, pay for a car to get back and forth to work, ect... I UNDERSTAND THIS. Not all of us here give empty threats. I truly want to help those who are able to pay, but are not able to pay the balance in full. There are some of us, and I use the word us for all collectors, who give the rest of us a bad name because of their practices and the way they treat people who owe debt. Because of them, consumers are misguided into thinking every collector is going to yell at them, demand money when they dont have it, and leave them with threats and hang up and call back in the next day or two and do the same thing. We're not all like that. If you decide to answer the phone, then hear us out and see if the collector on the other end will listen to your story. I know if I'm the one to call you, I will. And if you dont have the money to pay at this point, maybe you will a few months down the line. Maybe a income tax refund the next year might come into play, maybe you'll have a 401K that will allow you to borrow against, maybe the pay increase freeze will be lifted from your company and you can start increasing your income. There are many things that can change for the better. As well as I know that there are many things that can change for the worse. I personally, just in this year alone, have had to deal with two car accidents, a car catching fire, having to go to the emergency room for myself, and for my daughter, two deaths in the family, and the normal every day issues such as belts breaking on cars, needing new brakes, ect. I've had my fair share, and I know you have as well. You cant help loosing your job or having to take a pay cut to keep your job, or the many medical problems that seem to haunt us. I can only ask that you listen, as I will listen in response. If you have a way to pay, then work out an arrangement, we have options available. You can settle the acct, in full or in a few pymnts, or take a longer length of time to pay the debt back in full. If not possible at this point, inform us of that, keep in touch and let us know of the situation. If you cant afford the options we have, send in 25 a month to us and let us post it to your acct. The majority of the accts are at 0 interest, unless it moves forward into litigation. We have no control over that by the way, the Attorney's decide to move forward and we have to work the accounts accordingly. I wont say its a guaranteed way to stop from moving forward by sending in very little to the acct, but it will be applied and taken into consideration. And then after your situation changes, maybe you can increase your payments or something. I dont know the future, I dont know everyone, I dont know what is going to happen, but I do know that we've been hired by credit card companies to collect or possibly sue. I dont want to see anyone get that far, if you dont have the money to pay the balance now, I know you wont have the money to pay a judgement. And if you file for bankruptcy to start over fresh, by all means file. Call us and give us the attorney information so it will stop the calls to you. We can not call an attorney no matter how many times you yell in the phone to call them and hang up on us before giving us the information. We need their name and number to call them. I just ask one thing of you, if you are with a Debt Settlement Company, please look into them. Check out the complaints and suits filed against them, they're not doing anything better for you than you can do yourself. I dont expect you to listen to me and believe me, I mean who am I, just another collector on the computer. But please look into it, research it, and find out if they can guarantee you the things the tell you. Ask for settlement letters to prove what you're paying them will settle the accts, ask if they'll represent you in court if you were sued, ask specifically how much is going into their pocket, ask specifically how much your credit is going to look when you're done with them, and finally ask them if they can guarantee that at the end of your program, you will be free of all your debt or if there's a chance they cant settle everything out. Cover yourself. If you dont want to hear from us, collection agencies or law firms that specialize in debt collection, then send in a written cease and desist letter, ask the company for the mailing address and have it sent certified so you have proof that the company signed and received it, again to cover yourself. If for example, you sent a cease and desist letter to your credit card company and they then send the acct to a debt buyer, a law firm, or just a collection agency, the cease and desist does not apply to the new company. Unfortunatly, you would have to send another, to the new company representing your debt. I hope the information I have provided is helpful to anyone, I dont wish to start an arguement with anyone, I just simply wish to extend my apologies for the rudeness that anyone has had to deal with from the collectors from the company I work for. I dont wish this on anyone, being in debt alone is not fun, and then not able to pay the debt back because of your misfortunate events makes matters worse. Yelling and hanging on anyone, from either end is not a way to solve it. If there's a problem, I'd rather talk about it and find out what I need to do on my end to fix it or to provide help to fix it. So if I happen to call you, please extend to me the same courtesy I will extend to you. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask, but as I mentioned above, I do not wish to start an arguement over this. So if in a reply there are nasty comments to me, I will not reply back. I simply dont wish to argue.
Recieved a call from this number, He told my brother that if he pulled money out his [***] to pay them they dont want it because it smells like [***]... Isnt this a busines? Isnt that unprofessional?? Completetly rude, dont anyone give them money!!!
if i knew where you lived i would wait for you to come out of your house and beat the crap out of you
Whew -- They called me and told me I needed to "cooperate." I gave them my name and asked what I owed (believe me, after college - I'm still finding weird little pockets of debt - I <3 Blockbuster!). They didn't have my name and asked for my social. I refused -- if I owed money, shouldn't they have my name? They have my phone number, but refused to say what name was associated with the number. They were incredibly rude - very insulting, demanding and intimidating. Puh-lease!
I receive anywhere between 1-3 calls a day from these idiots asking to speak to "Cheryl Leforge." The first time I gave up and finally answered, I spoke to a relatively nice guy. Told him they had the wrong number and I had no idea who that was. The calls kept on coming. I answered again today and some lady asked for the same person, this Cheryl lady. I told her I had no idea who she was talking about and that this was my personal cell phone and they had the wrong number. She responded with "ooookay." With the tone she used she could have just said to me "i don't believe you and we will keep calling you incessantly." Apparently they are too stupid to make a notation somewhere that says they are calling the wrong number, or they just don't care. I am not going to be as nice next time. I work a late shift and sleep from 4am-12noon... I am constantly woken up by these people and turning my phone ringer off is not an option because I don't have a land line if someone needs to get in contact with me.
zwicker and asst, is a law firm i was sued by them and i do have a lien on my house and my check was garnished which caused me to lose my job... please hear them out!! they are not fooling around!
I don't have an Amex card or owe anybody anything. I think they may be looking for my ex-brother-in-law. I've gotten other collections that have called for him. I don't know how they got my number though. He would never use me as a reference cause I never liked him. Anyway, if they call I'll answer it and give them his parents' address and phone number so they can harrass them instead. LOL!
