had an experience similar o all those listed below. Indian-accented man claimed his name was Brian Wilson and was calling from Microsoft about error messages being reported back from my computer which are harmful and could cause me to lose my data.Initially thought it was a call from a call center since call center employees in India regularly have fake American personas to make a valid customer service experience friendlier for customers. But then I thought: Brian Wilson? Sounds like Austin Powers saying "My name is Ritchie Cunningham and this is my wife Oprah," so I kept him on the line while I googled "288 area code" and found the number wasn't valid.This is a scam. NEVER give information over the phone.After pressing him and telling him that I couldn't imagine why an Indian would be named after one of the Beach Boys he hung up.

received a call from someone with an Indian accent - insisted I called him. Told him I did not call him - he kept insisting. He wanted to know my name - i told him - hey pal you lose and hung up!

Got a call early this morning. Knew my name. Said he was from Dell. Insisted we had a virus. We hung up. SCAM.

I too got the call from someone with a heavy forgein accent wanting to fix an infection on my computer that happened 2 weeks ago. I told them that I had an IT guy and he said they couldn't fix it.

Same issue...heavy Indian accent. When I told him my brother-in-law worked in IT and I would have him look at my computer when he got home, he hung up on me.

Received a call from a male with an Indian accent saying he was from Microsoft and he was calling about my computer. I told him to give me his name and number (although I have caller ID) and I would call him back. He immediately hung up.

Call came in very heavy Indian accent. Asked for me by name (mispronounced) said that he was from micro soft and that my computer had virus's. I told him I didn't use a computer and he hung up.

Yep. We got the Windows Microsoft [***] calling us today as well. "We have seen that your computer has been giving error messages every morning for the last 3-4 weeks."Really? Sure [***]! Let me fire up my computer and let you access it to get all my info!What will they come up with next?!Stupid scammers!

I got a call from this number- Someone with an asian Accent - telling me I have a virus on my computer - I told him i didn't have one- He hung up:) I was amused :)
