Called Customer Service on back of Bank of America Credit Card to confirm 302-731-1166.Number belongs to their Fraud Dept. Hadn't used card in quite some, time then made a few purchases. They were checking for possible fraudulent use.
This is the Bank of America fraud line. However, if you want to call them back, the toll free number is: 1-800-383-0618.
Called on my cell. No answer when I called back; just recorded music and a female voice requesting that I wait, due to unexpected high call volume.Others on this site identified the number as associated with fraud.
I got a call from the 302# - Bank of America - they left a voicemail that was garbled - I got out my Master Card, called the 800# on the back of the card - entered the last four digits of my card # and listened to the recording - it told me I had a zero balance, I had charges approved but not processed in the amount of $$$ and no payment was due. I had just come from the eye doctor and used my card and the amount approved but not processed was the exact amount I had charged at the eye doctor.
It's a company called "Card Services" and they're totally legitimate. I think in this day and age of phishing and fraud, they could use a better name for their company, but whatever.Anyway, they're a company that services many banks - one being Bank of America. I recently charged a ton of stuff from many different places and they put a security hold on the card until they could verify that these charges are legit (they were).Like the first post, I also didn't trust this "Card Services" place so I called BofA customer service (number on the back of your card) and verified. I'm glad BofA is doing this. They're looking out for your best interest.Cheers and Happy Holidays everyone!
Yes, in fact I did get a fraudulent charge of $303 from some company in Spain called something like "IS Allemagne". Now my account is closed and B of A has refunded the money.Don't give any information to 302.731.1166. After they call, go check your credit card charges from the last day.
Yep.... This number is from the Bank of America Fraud department..... Definitely answer and confirm or deny the charges.......
From Bank of America. Also received an e-mail from them statinf they had a possible fraud transaction. They are looking out for you. Called on a Sunday too.
I just received 2 phone calls today and an email to my personal email account, and did exactly what has been posted on here. I called the BOA # on the back of my card, and as everybody else has said, I have charges that were trying to be posted to my account from a company I've never heard of. Luckily, BOA declined it, and they have ordered me a new card.
