302-731-1166 - Bank of America - however my cc has specifically advised to NEVER give information out over the phone when it comes to 'incoming calls'
I just returned their call- they called me twice. The first thing the man asks me is WHAT IS YOUR CREDIT CARD NUMBER? Are you kidding me? You are calling from the fraud department to prevent fraud? WHat a joke. Please be smart guys and don't give any information over the phone to ANY ONE!!!!!
I received this call from 302-731-1166 stated there is an unusual activity in my account and my card temperary on hold. I haven't use this card for almost a year. I called the number at the back of credit card, the automated machine asked me to punch in my date of birth and social security number, that make me nervous too. Then the lady answer the phone stated there is a fraud but she won't tell me what it is, instead she kept asking my personal information including last 4 digit of saving account. I refused to give her that info and she refused to tell me what was the fraud charge was about. She also asked some stupid questions such as the crossroad of by 2 previous address. I went on-line haven't seen any activity yet. Will go to the bank tomorrow to cancel the card. I have a bad feeling that BOA is playing dirty games. Just like they put our check on hold for extra days, the direct deposit took extra day to show on our account. BOA is a gangster. Watch out !!!!!!!
Sunday at night i received a call from this phone · asking to me the information about my credit card of bank of America .. Guess what i do not have any.. so that phone · is a fraud .. dont give tio them anu information
I received several calls from (302) 731-1166 today. The first two I answered there was nothing on the line. The third call was a recording from Bank of America with a fraud alert about transactions on my credit card.I then called B of A on the customer service line on the back of my card. They then referred me to their "Fraud" department. The calls turned out to be for real as there were three bogus charges pending on my card. They then reversed the charges. When I first saw the number on my caller ID I assumed it was some sort of scam but in this particular case the call turned out to be real.
This is the fraud dept. of B of A. If these folks call you take the call because some fraudster has your credit card info and is likely going to town at your expense.
This # really is BoA, but always safer to call customer service. I use my BoA card for a lot of online transactions and usually get a call within 10-15 minutes of making a few transactions per day on more than one site. Usually it is another number, but I have seen this one more often lately.
My elderly grandmother received a call and was given 800-472-7970 as "their" phone number. I have called it back and the first time the agent answered and did not id himself or the company he was with and seemed to be very offended that i asked the name of the company. He indicated BOA and then i hung up. I called it back this morning and once again the agent did not identify themselves and when i asked the name of the company he indicated "FIA Card Services". I have called all of her banks and credit card companies and am told that no fraud calls were made to her in addition someone from the "Risk" department at BOA call the number and confirmed that it was not them...The very unfortunate thing is that they had her social and she confirmed that it was correct. Since all of these companies are telling me that they see nothing related to fraud on her accounts I have to assume that this is a SCAM!
Hello,This is a Legit number. I received a call from them (FIA) and then gave them my information. Then I saw this website and all the comments and was worried. So I called the Card Service number on the back of my credit card. They verified that the company is the part of their fraud department and the BOA person I spoke with new the name of the person from the 310-731-1166 number. He verified everything! So this is NOT a fraud number. It is just outsourcing jobs!
