I just got the same number yesterday it 3rd January 2017 so that number is still in use after 10 years?

This number is legit. To be sure, I called another known number for BoA and they informed me that my card had been compromised and was being used in the UK. Also, the message left by the 800-427-2449 caller *did* include a reference number that BoA confirmed. The lesson here is IT IS NOT A SCAM. If you are cautious(you should be) like I am, then call BoA directlly, but DO NOT IGNORE the message and let the charges roll up or have BoA cancel your card when you might need to use it.

Legit. Just talked to them re our Fidelity amx card. She had our current account history on her screen perfectly accurate and wanted to verify an attempted transaction that got canceled on me earlier that day. Apparently our (wife and I) account was compromised by a third party, I am guessing Home Depot. We had literally received new cards over the weekend and a letter telling us old cards would only be good through Oct 28. Customer rep at this number had the new acct numbers on her screen and activated them right then. The "rejected" transaction was when I tried to buy gasoline a few minutes after buying groceries. The two business are only a few hundred yards a part and our affliated but apparently show up as different merchants to amx. BTW, her initial security questions were tied directly to our Fidelity brokerage accounts.

This is Bank of America. I got an email plus a call from them regarding an unusual charge on my card. Fortunately, the charge was legitimate. It was just not local and was larger than usual charges. I sure appreciate the way they protect my card.

Well, when I called, they asked me for my password. Now, why would a legitimate service ask me for my password ? I requested a different validation question, and the guy came up blank. He did not ask, "was this charge legitimate?" He did not ask a normal validation question, he just wanted my password. This is a scam.

I got a phone call from this number with a voicemail regarding possible fraudulent activity and listed the last 4 digits of my credit card. I did not call back the number. I went to the website and logged into my account. There was a hold placed on my account for possible fraudulent charges. It listed several charges over the past few days, including 4 charges that were NOT mine. Two charges that had been declined to a department store, one charge that went through for over $200 for a department store and one charge for over $200 for a Walmart. I still have my credit card, it was not stolen. I marked the the 4 charges as fraud and began the investigation right on the website without speaking to anyone. They are sending me a new card.

Got the call from 800-427-2449...had a $700 charge for a hotel in France...oolala...wasn't my charge of course. Seems like a legit #. The first post here was way back in 2011, so I doubt they scammers have used the same number for 3 years. lol

Call for Bank of America's American Express Card - FRAUD ALERT - made by FIA Card Services.They Called my father's phone line with a fraud alert.When I called them back FROM MY PHONE number to see if they are legitimate. They knew which cards I had from my caller ID (not the phone number they called and not the card they were calling about), so I think that this is legitimate. Requested to have my father call back directly to discuss, and wouldn't talk to me. (Very professional, no foreign accent).

I received this call. It was a woman being coached by a man next to her. She stuttered and stammered and was extremely unprofessional (perhaps a new recruit in training). She never said whom she was calling. When your credit card company suspects there is fraud, the first thing they will do, before calling you, is freeze your card. If your card is not frozen, you know the call is a scam (but call your company anyway, just to be sure). In my experience, when the call is legitimate, my credit card company always states they are calling me, by name. I never answer these calls, but I call back using the number on the back of my card and then ask whether there is a fraud report on my card (don't be surprised if the answer is, "no"). BUT I AM CONFIDENT that this is a scam because I DO NOT HAVE a credit card with Bank of America. PS: For those of you who are unfamiliar with 'spoofing' it is a method of 'borrowing' someone else's phone number for the purpose of making an illegitimate call.
