860-951-7532Hartford ConnecticutRaved scam call 12-11-2015Wonder why govt doesn't shut them down?
This person said they were calling from Microsoft support and my firewall was down. Lots of talking and very poor English skills. SCAM!!!!
Two calls today. The middle eastern male voice claimed he knew I had security issues with my computer.I told him I had no issues and he immediately asked, "HOW DO YIU KNOW YOU HAVE NO SECURITY ISSUES WITH YOUR COMPUTER?"Told the guy if I had a problem, I certainly wouldn't talk to a random caller over the phone about rectifying the situation! Take me off of your calling list, and I hung up!
A guy I could barely understand said he was from Microsoft technical support. I told him I hadn't contacted MS and he said he could help with anything I may have a questions about.I told him I thought he was full of [***] and to not ever call my number again. We both hung up.
Got a call and some man with a heavy accent said there was a virus on my computer that I was not aware of. I asked him if he was in the USA. His answer was a drawn out "Yyyyeeeesss." I then asked him if he was answering. Another drawn out answer, "Yyyeeesss.
Had a call and they did not left message - As I am reading all the posting I am blocking this number. Thanks all of you!: )
Received a call from this number. He had a Arabic accent that supposedly worked for geek squad and wanted me to log into my computer. I asked for his name then he hung up. I've noticed most of the time they call during business hours. He vigilant and do not do what they ask, especially at your workplace.
Received a call this morning from this number. Answered and it took a few seconds before the party on the other end came on. When he did, he identified himself as 'Marshall' and said he was with Microsoft Windows support. I stopped him and told him that this was a scam and that he needed to take me off his list. He said "F**k you Bi**h". I said "excuse me, what did you call me?" He repeated the same obscenity. I told him to remove my number from his list immediately. His reply was "I will never do that'" I hung up. The call said it was from Hartford Connecticut
Did not answer. Caller ID stated the call was fromYinchuan, Ningxia, China. US of A here, and I don't know anyone in China who would call me in the middle of the night their time.
Scammer. Had me going for a minute because I had just replaced my failing HDD with SDD and had used Best Buy Geek Squad. Thought it was a follow-up call to resolve a few remaining problems. Said that they were working with Microsoft Windows error reports they had received from my computer. I felt it was a scam but out of curiosity followed along with them, they had me go to different places which showed the things they were talking about. They were convincing because they would tell me information on my computer that I didn't not think they could possibly know. When they got to the point of wanting to have me enter information or turn over control of the computer, I told them they were full of "s**t". and hung up. Later when I was back at Best Buy, I told them about it, and they said that there is a lot of stuff that is always on your computer that you are not aware of and it makes these guys sound very convincing to lead you to believe you have problems they need to fix. If you let them get into your computer - you're toast. One thing early on that made me me become suspicious was the confused way he identified himself - he said he was with Microsoft Windows, but he also said he was with Geek Squad Tech Support- I knew the two have nothing to do with each other. I hope these people have a special place in Hell reserved for them.
