They called me at three and asked to speak with me. They started trying to get personal information about me and I said I had a migraine (true- a horrible one). The woman tried to proceed with the call anyway since "she had me on the phone". So I hung up on her. I don't even know if this is really Sallie MAe, but a legit company would not try to get info out of you that they should have already. This number called back within an hour- after I already told them I had a migraine. Definate harassment.

I have started receiving calls from this number. So far they haven't left a message. So this evening, I decided to call them back. It took me a good 15 minutes to get through their automated system to a live person. Pretty much I had to act as if I was applying for a loan. The person they are calling lives in Midland, I live in central Texas. No relation. Anyway, the young man stated he would take my number off the call list. I made a note of it and if I receive any additional calls will file a complaint with the FTC.

Sallie Mae is 1st party collections. FDCPA pertains to 3rd Party Collections.

This number 1-888-272-5543 called me 2 weeks together. She called me at 8.30 am. it was the time that I wanted to sleep because I worked all night , then she did call in the afternoon and evening again. I didn't pick up the phone because I have no the business with this number . Maybe she maybe he called me again and again.....and left the messeges about my problem that I never knew about it. I let my husband listened the messeges and he said it is "SPAM".Please avoid this number and do not go to the trap that they making for you.

Called at least twice a day recently asking for someone I do not know. Calls are automated, but on one of them I was able to get a customer rep by pressing 0. Didn't work every time. I told the rep to remove my number immediately and that they have the wrong phone number. I understand federal law allows a fine of up to $1000 per call if they continue. State laws vary. But it is up to me and every other harassed reciver to file suit. Check into small claims court. It's fairly easy, and does not require a lawyer. Search for legal info first. Keep track of all calls. Record them if necessary. Be sure to tell them to remove your number. Then keep track of all subsequent calls.

Call from Sallie Mae asking me to return the call at 888-277-5543. I got an automated system. I currently have a forebearance on my student loan with them, and it is fairly new so why are they making collection calls to me when I am in forebearance?Previous to setting up the forebearance they call me several times a day. As I am usually at work when they call my cell phone I do not answer it. Most of the time they don't even leave a message.

Since 01/17/2009, I have been getting calls from (765) 283-3176 and other toll free numbers. Sometimes as many as 4 times a day. They even called me on Super Bowl Sunday at 07:00pm and 09:00pm. It is from Sallie Mae (Student loan). I co-signed for my daughter . I called them and told them to send me a bill. They sent the bill a week later and I paid it the very next day and as this day (02/07/2008) they are still calling. Four times a day. Will it ever end!!!!!
