Are you mental? First things first, learn how to spell. Secondly, the only thing a collector is doing is making a living by enforcing the contract that a consumer signed. Regardless of what your situation is, you are in it because of your financial irresponsibility. The economy has cut many people down to size and hopefully with many people having nothing they will learn from their mistakes and start a budget to manage their finances instead of binge shopping and running up 1000's of dollars in debt on credit. I was always told by my grandfather, if you can't pay for it with cash you probably don't need it. I understand that there are some things that do require financing but credit cards are not to be used to buy a bunch of stuff that you knowingly couldn't afford otherwise. If you make the debt you will have to pay for it at some point. The only decision you are left with is will you pay it now at the current balance and on a voluntary basis or later with a bunch of fees that you WILL HAVE TO PAY on an involuntary basis.

So what about ppl that lost their jobs and were unable to keep up with their bills and this is where they are at now? The ppl that want to resolve the debt? What could a person do that lost their job and was unable to continue making payments, but did try to resolve it and make the payments then sought help with a credity agency to help settle out? What can we do now?

Well, I'm one of those scumbags that can't pay my credit card bills. I am paying my mortgage, car and utilities though. Oh! and my attorney, because I am declaring bankruptcy. So Zwicker and Associates will have to write me off. If I had the money they want paid in full I would have paid it before it ever got to this. You all sound so harsh, it just confirms; to me anyway, that I have made the right decision. I understand responsibility but sometimes in this life you're hit with problems that are beyond your control and not everyone has money to save for a rainy day because most families live from paycheck to paycheck. To those of you in the same boat, you have my understanding and sympathy and to those of you who aren't God bless and I hope you never get here.

You defend a collection agency because you work for them. If you truly are in the colection field then you know there are not many out there that are above board and follow federal and state laws. In fact if consumers do there research there are numerous ways to get JDB(Junk Debt Buyers) to stop calling by law. More cases are won by JDB by ther consumer not showing up in court. Send them a validation letter, make them prove you owe, the burden of proof is on them, 90% of the time they cannot either because it has been passed around to so many JDB's that there is no more paperwork or they are trying to collect on a debt that is out of statue of limitations. As stated below yes you may owe the debt but people can still be treated with respect, which is something that employees in the collection business do not know anything about. Defend them if you will but look at all the law suits filed and won against JDB's for violation of state and federal laws. So you may be one of the ones trying to do your job professionally but there are 1000s more whom skirt the laws and are disrespectful. Consumers please do your research, every thing you need to know and do is on the web.

Shawn you are an idiot what turns what into a Judgment? "When they file suit against you for on behalf of the creditor it turns the judgment onto the debt making it SECURED and not unsecured." What "secures" this Judgment Go back to school and stop propagating fraud!

You almost had me with your allegories and seemingly openhearted story. All the way until you said “ I understand a lot of people are mad that banks have been getting government bail outs, they wouldn't need them if everyone paid their bills either”. Oh boy!Now I see where you are coming from and how well you have been brainwashed!I do not know whether to pity you or ask that you be made to pay at the altar of society with total personal ruin and complete demoralization. What I am going to say next is going to meet your hardened resistance to anything in your mind that has been put there to make you the misguided and deluded person you are. The economic disaster that we are trying to survive has been put there by the “corporate” “capitalist” organizations of the world. I know that this is big, it certainly is! This was accomplished through the machinations of these huge corporations in their endless enterprise to earn more, pay more, get more and have more. The officers, directors and executives of these corporations were paid exorbitant salaries and huge benefit packages in order to amass “no holds barred” immense fortunes for their employers. It worked. Well for some (few) for a while anyway. Then the “chickens came home to roost” and brought with them all the hardships and difficulties the corporations were so facially avoiding. What eventually dislodged the “keystone”? Hmm. Okay, this is way beyond the scope of this missive, but does Enron, Worldcom, etc ring a bell. The precursory missteps and stumbles of the corporate giants during the few years before the current disaster. The 2001 events that seemed to propel the present economic downfall. The stock market tumbling and falling. Finally, no longer could you “borrow from Peter to pay Paul”. During these last few years, corporate heads were paid exceedingly high while the nation and the world was arriving at the present dreadful economic situation. These corporate leaders even celebrated themselves and the benefits they derived during the approaching disaster. So now let us blame the poor sap in Sadsack, Alabama for the current financial disaster. Yeah that’s it, the guy with the mortgage, car-loan, household expenses, etc. He caused this, he is to blame. After all, now he doesn’t pay some of his bills. He tricked the corporate world. He fooled the mortgage, credit, loan companies and banks. That wily, clever guy, how did he do it?Okay, here goes, I worked for one of these huge corporations in NYC. Ooops. Yep, me and my cushy job on the 32nd floor office on Park Avenue, sitting in front of a plethora of computers and financial information delivery machines. Did I see this coming, well to a certain extent, yeah. Take a rubber band and try to stretch it beyond its means and see what happens. Culpability on my part? Well yes and no. I was a mini-micro cog in this huge worldwide wheel. I could object but my superiors were economists, lawyers, CPA’s, finance experts most with Phd’s, all put there by the guy on the top floor of the corporate headquarters. True I could have quit or transferred, but I stayed on till the end.Well there you have it, sir! I hate to tumble someone’s cheese barrel, but the facts are the facts. So go on slam those indebted individuals. Tighten the screws, torture and threaten them turn them inside out and give them a spin for good measure. After all you are just doing your job!

Lynn Shut the hell up!! "your President couldn't Exist if he didn't get His debt ceiling raised just two months ago" Genius YOU wouldn't exist if he didn't raise the debt ceiling...what was he supposed to do? Let the country DEFAULT on its debt..just because you owe 50k in credits have a first and a second mortgage under foreclosure and your car was just repoed doesn't mean every should not pay there bills! GET A JOB MORON!!! Would you work for free...that is EXACTLY what you are telling millions of Federal Employees by not raising the debt ceiling THE US HAS NO FUNDS TO MAKE PAYROLL! [***]! Stop Obama bashing and use your head for more than giving head!

Received 2 calls/voicemails on 10/22/25 from different people at this number claiming to be with Fortitude Assistance and Fortitude Systems re: possible jobs in IT departments. Sounds questionable. I'm not in that industry so makes no sense.

This number had my name, address, and the amount of money I owed for a medical procedure (but had already paid) and said they were calling to collect it before it went to court. I told her I'd do it online, and low and behold I have already paid it.
