Actually this phone number is legit and is from Macy's.My advice (this is what I did) is not to give any information to the caller ; but as soon as the caller tells that this is from Macy's, kindly decline to continue but get Macy's phone number from their website (or from the card) and call. I did it and realized I had a past due balance.By the way, they did recognized that they've been trying to reach me with these numbers about my past due account.
Thanks for the heads up! I haven't been getting Check Free emails lately either and I forgot. They also stopped mailing me statements. I will definitely dispute any credit report issues as they should be sending me something in the mail since I didn't opt out of paper statements.
I get this call more than twice day, every day. I never answer calls from numbers I don't recognize. And, they never leave a message - so I know they're bogus!
I've had this call on my caller ID for 2 weeks now and I haven't been home (at work) to answer it; however, I answered it the other day and they clearly hung up on me. I found this site just by punching in the phone number and hitting go. I'm glad I know what it is then. It appears it's been going on a long time. Wonder why something hasn't been done to stop whoever it is.
Yesterday when I answered it, the caller ID also said "Mason,OH". sorry I forgot to put that.
No one in the house has ever had a account at macy's and they keep calling. I will never shop there again. They do not get the hint they have the wrong people, that and they give out private information on who they are looking for even.... talk about breaking the law. Yes I have reported them but they keep on doing it.
Only answered one time, no one responded on the other line. Calls during all hours of the day, never leaves messages. Very annoying.
I received a call from 513-573-8739. They didn't leave a message so I called back. The recording said "star rewards" I got disconnected. I have a Macy's account and called the company from my bill since so many of the posts here mention Macy's.Turns out, we paid the wrong amount the last month and there was a remaining balance. I wanted to pay over the phone, but they charge $14.95. That's more that what I owed, so I said I would pay online at the website for free. She then said she could do it for $10 fee. I again declined. Turns out, this was legit for me.

Claim to be discover card. I don't have that disreputable card and haven't had one for 20 years, so they have no reason to call me. Very suspicious.
