I wondered the same thing.I was called on my cell.Which, is not in my name.I am on my Aunts account in the family plan.However they called asking for me.How did they do that?It completely puzzles me.

I received a call from a woman calling from the office of Sarah Levy regrading a legal case in Multnomah County in Oregon.

How did these people get my number, anyway?

631-247-9920 called to say Washoe County {county I live in} is trying to collect a debt, and she will give me a number to call to contact them. Yea right. Read above posts. Now for the fun part - it was 758am my time when "She" called. I pointed out to her that She violated Federal Law by calling me before 800am. She said she did not, it was 806am when she called, she was looking at her clock at the time. I asked her if it was her computer clock, yes it was. I tried to tell her she needed to have the IT Guy update the time on the clock, because the clock is not correct. She wanted to argue with me, HER clock was correct. Anyway, when I was done having fun, I hung up. Another Satisfied Customer :)

i know why i'm getting these calls.basically it means you have an unpaid bill of some sort and the people contacting you are trying to collect.for me...about a year ago i woke up feeling like i had a spike going through my chest. completely freaked me out. hoping it would pass i went into work untill midway through my day i couldn't stand it anymore. told my boss and off i went to st. vincents emergency room in nyc...you know the one that just got closed down due to mis management.i waited a half an hour before i got to see a doctor. without even examining me the doctor told me i have shingles, gave me a prescription for oxycoton (the same stuff a dentist will give you after a root canal) and a 650 bill...coupled with the fact i lost a weeks pay because i was in so much pain where in the hell do i come up with the 12 or 13 hundred dollars i need to cover my getting sick. i'm not the type to blow off bills or payments...i pay my rent, utilities and legitimate expenses on time without fail...but this...i just don't care.the doctor didn't even spend five minutes with me. this hospital closed down because those few higher ups were stealing money...which is why an emergency room visit will run you upwards of 4,5 and 6 hundred dollars.i don't care...[***] them.

Everyone needs to file a complaint with the FTC Bureau of the Consumer Protection. You can go on line and file a complaint. Also if you can get the address from the web and print out all of these complaints along you attach what has been going on with you....I have a feeling this will stop. These are bottom feeders and in my case there is nothing there. but I still get calls. If you happen to talk to these idiots tell them you have filled a complaint with the Consumer Protection and they will be hearing from them. I have a feeling some of this will go away if there is no reason for them to call. Most of the things are write off and statue of limitations and pray on people if they hound them long enough they will pay just to get them off their back and they need to be stopped. Good luck!

Received a call from phone number 1-866-509-3202 Ext. 348 for my brother. The lady could not even tell me what state she was calling from. The lady's name was Linda Michaels and another number 1-866-509-3202 Ext. 315 in Long Island, NY. Has anyone out there had calls with the same number?

These people are calling my cell and I am only 13 years old. Next time they call I will make them regret the moment they dialed my number. They claim to be debt collecters for a car accident my dad was in. He was never even in an accident!
