They just started calling today and have already called 4 times. We don't even have a loan or a card from Capital One!!

People, calm down. A debt collector calls for 3 possible reasons:1. You owe them (or their client) money.2. They are trying to call someone else who provided your phone number(either intentionally or because it used to be their number).3. Someone exploited your identity (name or SSN) and the debt collectors thinks you owe the money.Regardless of reason, you have options. You can ask them to stop calling, you can ignore their calls, you can change your phone number or you can resolve the matter in the appropriate manner depending on your situation. Ranting and raving about it isn't going to solve anything.If debt collectors were pleasant they would be out of business. Their tactics are designed to make you panic and therefore WANT to pay.

Says it is "Linda" from Capital One. However, recording sounds very unprofessional. When I called back they wanted my credit card number or my social security number. Couldn't really give me any information about my accounts.

keep saying to me ita capital one ,,, they do it all day and yes they have called from 3 different numbers , so when they call me i plug it into my contacts with a choice name then just dont answer it oh yeah it help if you change the ringer to silent then you never know that they even called till u pick up ur phone and see a missed call,,,,, but i tell ya they sure are pain in the a**'s

This is supposedly CapitalOne calling to offer options for making payment over the phone. They have called me every day at least three time and sometime six times each day in the last month. II usually let the voicemail answer and they leave an automated message form "Linda". Today I answered the number to get more info. Guess what, its not Linda. It was a guy who sounded like he was from India. He knew some personal details about my CapitolOne account and wanted me to make payment with him over the phone. I told him that I make my payments online and that I wanted him to take my cell phone umber off his list. This # has called me twice today... no message, just still silence on my voicemail. Weird-o!
