Nowhere did she say, "I knew it was a scam because she was African American." She gave a description of the person that called her. Had she said that it was a valley girl that called her and said, "OMG you like, have like, a balance due on your Macy's account!", you wouldn't have your panties in a bunch.

Are you serious? These people don't have a bill to pay! All of these people (and myself) get calls from this number and it is obviously some kind of fraud.

Just got this call, and googled it as soon as I didn't recognize the number. Thanks folks for posting their experiences. Can we report this somewhere?

The same way you can tell if a Texan called you, or a New Yorker, or a girl from the valley.

I have yet to answer these phone calls. But we DO have a Macy's account which is CURRENT - not past due so I don't know why they'd call us. I will answer the phone the next time they call and see what they say.

I received a call today from Mrs. Jones looking for ......... which turns out to be my elderly mother. I asked her what this is in reference to and she said a personel bussiness matter then hounded me to see who she was speaking to. I refused to give her any information, this is my cell number and both myself and my brother do not know how they got this number. I called my mother to warn her about the call and she told me that a Mrs. Goldstein @ the same number just called her looking for a payment on her Macy's account.All her bills are current, and has not used the card in years. My brother has spoken to them numberous times and then called MAcy dirrect and they responded by saying she not past due and that they DID NOT contract that company to collect.BEWARE, do not give any information out, checking account numbers,SS # or your Macy account #'s

This number has been calling me 7 - 10 times per day for the last two weeks, beginning at 5 am and ending at 11 pm (approximate). They never leave a message, and I have yet to answer (I don't answer calls from phone numbers that I don't recognize, and I don't return calls to phone numbers that don't identify themselves.) Sometimes this number will call back to back, especially if I send the call to voicemail.I'm not sure if this phone number is related, but before I started receiving calls from 513) 573-8739, I was receiving calls at the exact same frequency and time frames from 727) 556-7300, which shows up as a Florida phone number. As soon as the 727 number stopped calling, the 513 phone number took its place.

These calls come in on two lines coming into our home -- one is an unlisted residential number and the other is a business line. They have slacked off lately, but started a couple of weeks ago with numerous calls every day, all day. As I didn't recognize the number on caller ID, I never answered the calls when they came in and there is never a message on either number's voice mail. This is very annoying. Thank you for the opportunity to report this spam.

We've been getting this calls from this number since last week..and I know for a fact, our home phone is unlisted. I haven't answered since I didn't have a clue who it was from - call ID just lists the number and notes it as UNKNOWN NAMEMy mother has a Macy's card, but she is never late on the payments - We receive the statement in the mail and she usually either pays online or more often, just goes into the store and pays the bill in person.

What do you mean, "These are MOST LIKELY collection calls"? Don't you know who does your collection calls? Wen this call is answered the recording says "We have an important call for you. Our representative will be with you shortly." How important can it be if the person calling doesn't have time to be there when I answer the telephone, I most assuredly do not have time to wait for them to get to me. My time is as valuable as their's if not more so. Get it together folks! If this is indeed a call from Macys it does not speak well for their business savy.
