We've just started receiving calls from this number -- 3 nights in a row, and always around the same time, 6:15 p.m. Since I don't answer calls when I don't recognize the number or the caller name (which, in this case, was UNKNOWN), I let it ring, and they never leave a message. Macy's had better watch themselves -- the retail industry is struggling right now, especially brick-and-mortar stores, and this is NOT the way to treat people.
Yet they keep calling. I'm thinking of sending them a bill for my cellphone minutes wasted. The person who say oh well they are a collection agency is allowing them to be rude, and cost you/me money. If they area real and legitimate company let them state it at the beginning of thew messages they don't leave.
Apparently, if you're late on a payment (and we're talking, like, days and not weeks), not only will they harass you multiple times a day, but also anyone in your family who also has an account. They called my parents who live across the country for 2 weeks without stating who they were or who they were looking for, until the very last call when my mother started yelling at them. Because of this, the main contact number on my account was changed to their number. I called and freaked out at them to take that number off, and they did. I also told them to specifically note that I had made a payment that was to be posted on a certain day. EVEN STILL, they called me TWICE today because there is a balance. I also find it incredibly shady that they insisted on asking for my info instead of confirming the info they already have. I've had this account since 2004 and I have NEVER been contacted/harassed this much about late payments. The crappy economy is unleashing the sharks. Unbelievable.
I get several calls per day from his number at all different times. When I answer it says to hold for the first available customer service agent. I have no idea who the caller is.
I received these calls as well. I called the number and learned that someone had my number on a Macy's account. After explaining I wasn't this person and that I live alone was assured that my number would be removed from the account. Hopefully this will be the case.
I think this is DCS. Diversified Collection Services. I got a call from this company some weeks ago and they called me by an old last name. They were trying to collect money on state income taxes from over 10 yrs ago. Well, considering I have a taxman (and always have) and get refunds every year (I plan it like that by not claiming anyone all year) AND especially never having gotten a bill (!) from the state my tax guy says I need not worry shouldn't talk to them. These people call several times a day. They sometimes leave a message. I spoke to someone only once. She was rude. (I don't answer when they call now) My tax guy said that first of all - after that long of a time- it's moot,if I had owed owe anything it would be too late for them to collect. They are just trying to scare people into sending money. He said ignore the calls and the letters that I am now getting every few days. I plan to write RTS -return to sender- on the envelope from now on and send them back to them. I plan to do as I'm told. "Ignore them"Apparently they also go after people with old school loans.
I've never had a Macy's card and have been called repeatedly as well... I finally called the Macy's Corporate Office and spoke with a woman who assured me my number would be removed. Guess time will tell if it's done.
Hello Everybody,I WOULD NOT TRUST THIS ANY CALLS FROM THIS NUMBER! They have been calling me every single day for over a week and have never left a message. Annoyed, I finally called the number back today and they began by asking me for personal information. If it was Macy's, why wouldn't they just ask me for my account number? After refusing to give them information, I called my Macy's card (which has a $0 balance) and asked if they have been calling me. The customer service person said that there were not any notes indicating outgoing calls on my account. It's a mystery but I WOULD NOT TRUST IT.
