I never accept a call from 1-800-331-0500 because they added a charge to my bill from AT&T for $9.95 for a service I never requested. AT&T reversed the charges, but the scam exists anyway and many people don't look at their phone bill carefully enough. This company ignores the fact that I am on the National Do Not Call List and, from what I am led to believe, they are either a part of AT&T or they serve as a billing service for them. All this started when I registered online for 2 new cell phones I got from AT&T and I checked a box indicating I wanted emails for updates in products and services. I won't make that mistake again.
Had this charge on my cellphone bill for 10 months ebfore I caught it from Motricity. Called Motricity and they are sending me a $9.99 check in the mail (2-3 weeks) called AT& T and they were able to reverse the latest charge. Also made sure Motricity put me on a "Never" add my number to your system again. We will see how it works. Motricity's number is 1-800-861-7414
I just got called by att saying that my number has been suspended. I was told to click 1 for…or 2 for …. I hung up. Don’t want to get charged.
I dont have att and they called me saying the same thing. I listened to his rambling and when he asked for my info i laughed, let him know his jig is up and hung up
Just got a scam call from someone pretending to be an AT&T rep, wanted all my account info like PIN and other digits in order to claim a $99 rebate.
I got a call on my home phone this morning from this number. They ask for Loran Green. My reply to them, "I'm sorry" he is in a meeting with Michael Landon and Dan Blocker at this time. I did call the number back later and got a message. Message did state they are AT&T wireless. I do not have AT&T wireless.
I received a call from this same number and I tried to call it back because of what I read here and the automated answering would not let me speak to a representative because I have NET10 phone service and NET10 is a reseller for AT&T. Will check with NET10 but don't think any charge can be added to a "pay as you go" phone. When I answered the call from 800-331-0500 the call disconnected and I think that is how you all are getting charged is just by answering the phone call, or possibly when it goes to voice mail. The following is from a different person from a different web sit,Just a heads up to those who will see it, I just got a call from AT&T telling me there were going to be network upgrades in my area, but they requested a temporary/one-time PIN from me that was sent via text. I was able to change my password before the scammer got into my account but after I'd already given the one-time PIN, but unless someone can confirm this was not a scam/phishing attempt, I'm confident it was.The number came in at a 800-331-0500 number, which is AT&T, so I presume they're spoofing the CID.Watch out folks :OEdit: To add additional details, they called multiple times and I finally answered the call. The audio was cutting in and out with the caller as well, and they made it very convincing on how the call went down. What I mean is, they advised of network upgrades from 9AM till 6PM, and advised they would give me a code for any network issues that occurred that I could provide AT&T, and they would credit up to 25% of my bill if issues occurred. Took me a minute to realize what was going on when they had me read the PIN back, so I think I'm safe based on the way I handled it.This is what I am saying all you have to do is just answer the call or let it go to voice mail and that's the same as it being answered, that's all they need, to bad for them I have pay as you go so there is no billing I pay first and then use the minutes. Good Luck all
