Yup, same thing for us just a little while ago...we suspected a scam too.

Recording says social security has suspended my number. When questioned, the caller ( ESL) won't tell you what information they need from you - and get pretty nasty with heavy profanity when you won't fall for their scam.

Tried to get me to open up my computer to uninstall security software I had purchased. Had my email and credit card number. Offered to credit my card over $450+ of previous fees. Indian-English accent. Called multiple times and left voice messages.
